Mayor Fired For Half-Nude Photos...Too Strict or Right Action?

First it was President Bill Clinton with "dirty" office politics in the Oral... eh, rather Oval Office and now Carmen Kontur Gronquist, mayor of Arlington, Oregon has been fired for posting some racy photos on her myspace page. Now I don't know if I have a bigger problem with her photos or her being the mayor with a myspace page... but I digress.

I will be the first to admit that the photos themselves are not altogether that racy, they look as if she is wearing a two piece bathing suit... but they are a bra and panty set and she is posing on the small town (population 500) fire truck. (Talk about a siren) Granted, she posted the pictures before she was mayor, but doesn't she have a responsibility to take those photos down??

My opinion: We should hold our elected officials especially to a standard. When the former leader of this nation was caught with his pants down, (pun very much intended) we had a nation of pre-teens who now call themselves "technical virgins" because they were performing oral sex on each other and thinking it was okay....(Google Rainbow Parties) "I did not have sexual relations with that woman..."

Now of course people are going to say that those opposed to her racy pics are too uptight, but honestly most people admittedly still want to have a nation of standards and morals before it gets too out of hand.

I didn't add earlier that she was voted out... which proves the point.

God's Thoughts: When the righteous are in authority the people rejoice; but when the wicked bear rule the people mourn (Proverbs 29:2)
